Covid-19 Vaccination

Who Can Get Vaccinated

  • you're aged 18 or over
  • you're at high risk from COVID-19 (clinically extremely vulnerable)
  • you have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
  • you have a learning disability
  • you're a frontline health or social care worker
  • you get a Carer's Allowance, get support following an assessment by your local authority or your GP record shows you're a carer

When you book you'll only be offered appointments for vaccines that are recommended for you based on your age, any underlying health conditions, and whether you're pregnant. If you are pregnant it is advisable you have the Pfizer vaccine please contact your GP surgery to arrange this.

Booking Covid-19 Vaccination

You need to:

  • have 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at 2 appointments
  • get the 2nd dose 8 to 12 weeks after getting your 1st dose

If you've had a positive COVID-19 test, you should wait 4 weeks from the date you had the test before you book an appointment.

Book your vaccine using the national booking system or by calling 119 or using the text message booking link received from GP surgery. If you had 1st dose vaccination abroad please see the section below.

If you are eligible for a vaccination aged 25 and over or in the clinically vulnerable list you do not need to wait to be contacted by the GP surgery to book your vaccination you can use the national booking system to book at a large vaccination centre or a pharmacy.

Rescheduling an Appointment

To reschedule a booked appointment at large vaccination centres, pharmacy or at hospitals use the national booking system or by calling 119.

For appointments booked using the GP surgery booking link use the the same link or contact the surgery or call 119.

Covid-19 Vaccination Certification

Thank you for contacting the surgery enquiring about COVID vaccination certification. We are unable to issue this certificate at the practice. COVID-19 vaccination status is available if you:

  • have had a full course of the COVID-19 vaccine (a full course is currently 2 doses of any approved vaccine)
  • were vaccinated in England
  • are aged 16 or over

You can get your vaccination status in digital or paper format. Your NHS appointment card from vaccination centres cannot be used to demonstrate your vaccine status.

Please see www.gov.uk/guidance/demonstrating-your-covid-19-vaccination-status-when-travelling-abroad for further information.

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHSappContact GP surgery for your NHS number and to send you the linkage key details by email.

The NHS App can be downloaded from https://apps.apple.com for iPhone or https://play.google.com for Android.

Alternatively you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course (2 doses) of the vaccine, the letter may take up to 5 days to reach you.

Had Vaccination Abroad ?

If you had your vaccination abroad please contact the GP surgery to update your health record.

If you only had first dose abroad we will book you in for your second dose. When you attend for your second dose appointment please ensure to take the first dose vaccination record to the vaccination centre.

If you had a vaccine other than pfizer or Oxford- AstraZeneca we will need to get advice from the NHS England Vaccination Team on how to proceed.

Unable to View Vaccination Record?

If you are unable to view your vaccination record on the NHS App  after registering with the linkage key it may be due to the delay in receiving the data to the system, please give a weeks time from your appointment date. If you cannot view even after a week contact your GP surgery and we will chase this up with the vaccination centre for you.

Why do I keep getting text reminders when I have had the vaccination already?

There might be a delay from when you have your vaccine and us being informed which may mean a text message is sent after you have already had your jab. Please kindly inform us  via the booking link selecting the most suitable option with a note. This will disable any future covid vaccine invite sent to you.
