Why am I charged?

Non-NHS Services

Most of the services we provide at the Practice are funded by our NHS contract.

Some services requested by patients fall under the category of non-NHS services. These services are not funded by the NHS and
may include tasks like completing medical reports, writing letters or certificates, insurance reports, or certain vaccinations.

Since GPs are self-employed and need to cover their costs for non-NHS work, they charge fees for these additional services.
This type of work is usually completed outside of the doctor's NHS-contracted time, and it requires the GP to review your medical
records thoroughly, which justifies the extra charge.
